Businesses and art galleries in Dubai's arts neighbourhood will donate 100 per cent of their profits on that day.Following the deadly blast in the Lebanese capital on August 4, the UAE arts community has come together to support charities working on the ground there.
Funds will go to Emirates Red Crescent, and the total amount raised will be matched by Alserkal, the arts foundation behind the Avenue.'A Day for Beirut' also includes a donation drive that runs until Saturday, August 29th.
Items such as canned and dry goods, first aid kits, gloves, masks, brooms and brushes, hygiene products and toys will be accepted at Warehouse 46 and cash donations will be accepted at a collection point in A4 Space.Those business taking part are: Appetite, Crank, Shimis, The Odd Piece, The Happy Box, Chi-ka, The Good Life, Inked, Ame and Cinema Akil.
Galleries Carbon 12, Isabelle van den Eynde, Green and Gulf Photo Plus are also contributing to a range of related good causes through sales of artworks.
